Yesterday, An awareness camp under Tandurust Punjab Mission was organized by Mr. Vipesh Kumar, Officer of Horticulture Development, Budhlada (Mansa) in GSSS, Datewas-Budhlada. School children were made aware of the role of horticulture in the diversification of agriculture. Students were also told about the vocations of horticulture from food processing to mushroom cultivation and honey beekeeping to vegetable seed production. They were motivated to integrate horticulture with traditional agriculture to increase farm incomes and to promote resource conservation practices.

Students and school staff were also encouraged to start a school garden to further integrate it with mid-day meal schemes. HDO Budhlada, Mr. Vipesh Kumar told that they are on a mission to bring schools and institutions of his block under influence for the holistic development of the block. As of now almost 30 schools and colleges have been covered out of 85 villages under his jurisdiction.
