Children are inspired to connect with the environment through a School Garden Camp

A "School Garden" camp has been set up under the "Tandrust Punjab Mission" in Government Middle School of Village Chak Bhai Ke, Mansa. The camp was mainly headed by Mr. Vipesh Kumar, Horticultural Development Officer of Budhlada Block. Informing about the program, he said that this effort is being made for the development of the block and so far, out of total 85 villages under him, the camp has been organised in 30 schools. In these camps, in addition to books and education, school children are encouraged to connect with the environment to set up poison-free gardens, grow fruit plants, and decorate existing gardens. Vipesh said that he often holds school gardening workshops, which makes this mission easily accessible to each and every house. Mr. Vipesh also told that school garden is open class learning where children can learn ecology, environment science, rural economy, geography, maths all subject indirectly.
