Yesterday, under the presence of D.C of Mansa district Ms. Apneet Riyait, Extension officer Mr. Vipesh Kumar, District co-ofrinate officer Mr. Mandeep Singh, an Afforestation programme was conducted by Forest department and MGNREGA in village Khokhar Kalan, Mansa. This initiative will be a good start to make the environment green and clean. Total 550 plants and trees, of 29 different species were planted in 160 sq metre of area. Talking about the environmental issues, D.C mentioned that in the coming time they will work hard on such projects. To make this project successful, Forest department commenced that government is trying to reach every village by providing 550 plants per village for plantation. For the plantation and management of the trees, there will be increase in employment under MGNREGA Scheme. Apart from the government, Khokhar Kalan residents also supported the whole project with their full involvement. Apni Kheti team discussed various environmental issues with the government officials in the programme.
