Awareness camp under Tandrust Punjab Mission has been organised in GGSSS, Budhlada under office of Horticulture Development Officer. Class 9th and 10th children were told about the role of nutritional kitchen and school gardening. Pupils were made aware about the role of vegetables and fruit diet as wholesome diet for their overall development. Children were motivated to grow their own chemical free vegetable and fruits and help their families in agriculture to double their incomes. Dr Jasbir singh who is trained as Entomologist but serving as science lecturer at GGSSS, Budhlada also told children about honey beekeeping as integral component of horticulture to diversify farmers income. Virender Jindal, a budding environmentalist from region also attracted attention of children towards importance and conservation significant of traditional trees e.g. sahjana, ruhera, van, jamun, karonda, toot etc. HDO Budhlada Vipesh Kumar told they are covering government schools under his jurisdiction to generate awareness about nutritional and school gardening at grass root level.
