The Centre is pushing the online agri-trading platform eNAM in states that do not have Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) to give farmers bigger opportunities to sell their produce.
Officials said business transactions are growing and more than 150 commodities are being traded on the electronic platform.
Currently, 585 mandis across 16 states have been integrated on eNAM platform. However, some states and Union territories such as Bihar, Kerala Manipur, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Andaman and Nicobar have not yet adopted the APMC framework.
