2.5 lakh discount on the cultivation of immunity booster dragon fruit

The farmers of the district will now cultivate dragon fruit. The government will also give 50 percent of the total cost of one hectare i.e. 2.5 lakh rupees to the farmers who register online. Its tree will start bearing fruit in seventeen months. The immunity booster dragon fruit sells for Rs 500 a kg. Once planted, it gives fruit for 40 years. The state government will also celebrate Dragon Fruit Festival in the coming times so that the income of the farmers will be doubled.

In the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission scheme, the target of cultivating dragon fruit in two hectares in the district has been met. District Horticulture Officer Dr. Dhirendra Singh says that farmers will be selected on the basis of first come-first serve. The grant amount will directly go to the bank account of the selected farmer. Cement pillars are required for dragon fruit cultivation. Dragon fruit plants can be planted throughout the year except in the rainy season. It is cultivated in countries like America, Vietnam and Thailand, Malaysia. It is also being cultivated in Gujarat, UP, MP, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal and Maharashtra.

Panacea for diabetics and heart 

Dragon fruit is a panacea for patients of diabetes, asthma, cholesterol. It contains calories and is also rich in antioxidant properties. Apart from this, it is rich in vitamins to minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron and sodium. 

Guava and discounts on marigold 

seven hectares in the district have guava and set a goal of putting common in 10 hectares. Target has also been issued to cultivate marigold in four hectares. Interested farmers can register online on the website of the department.
