Rain would continue for two more days in tricity before subsiding, said officials at Chandigarh MeT Department.
According to weatherman, city recorded 1.2mm rain today. “It is expected to rain more on Thursday. The rain will continue on Friday too,” said a MeT official.
“Rainfall is very likely to increase in intensity (1-4 cm) and spread during March 11-13 with peak intensity on March 12 and 13 and cover almost all parts of Punjab, Haryana, including Chandigarh,” said the officials.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (wind speed 30-40 kmph at times exceeding 45 kmph) are very likely in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, including Chandigarh, for the next two days, they added.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 22.5°C today, five degrees less than the normal temperature. Minimum temperature has been recorded as 14°C, two degrees above normal.
