Now wheat will be procured till June 22, UP government extended the time of one week

Wheat will now be procured till June 22 at the wheat purchasing centers in the state. The state government has extended the time for one more week. For this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions.

Food and Logistics Commissioner Manish Chauhan said that the government has broken records in wheat procurement. Till Tuesday, 53.80 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from more than 12 lakh farmers. 10626.91 crore has also been paid by the government to the farmers. Earlier, wheat was to be procured only till June 15, but after the instructions of CM, now it will be procured till June 22. The CM has directed that all arrangements should be made to keep the wheat safe at the storage godowns and centers during the rainy season.
