Farmers get right price for vegetables

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that our farmers produce sweats day and night, but take more profit middlemen. Develop a market system so that farmers get the right price for their produce. There should not be much difference between wholesale and retail prices of vegetables. A report should be prepared regarding the support price of vegetables. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was holding a high-level meeting of the horticulture department regarding the prices of vegetables in the ministry.

Consideration of plan to set support price

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is our goal to make farmers get proper prices for their vegetables and produce. For this, after studying the arrangements of other states, a report should be prepared and set for the minimum support price of vegetables.

Surprise inspection

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed that the officers of Animal Husbandry and related departments should make surprise inspection of vegetable mandis etc. to see at what price the vegetables are being purchased from the farmers and at what price the consumers are getting. There should not be much difference between wholesale and retail prices.
