Demand for Devbhoomi garlic in Tamil Nadu, selling for Rs 115 a kg

In the midst of Kovid, the demand for Himachal Pradesh s garlic has started increasing again in the outer states. Farmers are also getting the right price for it. Earlier garlic was being sold at Rs 50 to 95 per kg depending on the grade, whereas now the price of garlic has reached Rs 115 per kg. Most of the demand is coming from Tamil Nadu. At present, a consignment of 11 thousand 327 thousand quintals of garlic has reached the vegetable market, Solan. Due to which a business of about seven crores has been done.

At present, garlic of Solan including district Sirmaur, Shimla is reaching the vegetable market. The garlic of Himachal is full of medicinal properties. This is the reason why its demand has increased across the country. Himachali Garlic works as a panacea in strengthening the immunity system. To avoid the Kovid epidemic, people are now using garlic more in everyday food than before. Due to this, the demand of Himachali garlic rich in medicinal properties is increasing continuously in the mandis of the country.

Garlic became costlier by Rs 15 to 20 

Secretary of Vegetable Market Solan Dr. Ravindra Sharma said that garlic is being sent to Puducherry along with Tamil Nadu. There is a high demand for garlic here. Farmers are also getting good prices.
