Agricultural scientist of Kushinagar district has developed 20 new varieties of wheat with disease resistant and high yielding capacity according to the climate of different regions of the country. For this fellowship-2020 has been received from the Indian Society of Genetic and Plant Breeding (ISGPB). A total of 11 agricultural scientists of the country have been given this fellowship.
Vaibhav, a resident of Sakhwania of Kasaya tehsil area, is posted as Agricultural Scientist (Research) in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Delhi. He has developed 20 varieties of wheat including HD 3178 Pooja Vatsala, HI 8737 Pooja Anmol, HD 3226, HD 3271. HD 3226 and HD 3271 species correspond to the climate of the districts of East UP and West Bihar. After getting the fellowship, Vaibhav gave this information by interacting with the journalists online.
Vaibhav said that the new species has a high level of immunity. This will increase the yield and reduce the cost. He told that the population of the country will be around 1.7 billion in 2050. At that time a large grain stock would be needed. This is the biggest problem before the agricultural scientists of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The second challenge is the ongoing change in climate. Research is going on to develop low cost and short duration wheat varieties. It is also emphasized that the potential species should grow equally in different climate, soil and environment of all the regions of the country.
Celebration in the village
There is an atmosphere of joy in his native village on learning of Vaibhav getting the fellowship. He completed his education up to Intermediate in the year 1999 from Mahatma Gandhi Inter College in the village. B.Sc in Agriculture from Gorakhpur University.
MSc Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural University and Pantnagar University did his PhD and became an agricultural scientist. Chandrabhushan Singh, Balwant Singh, Diwakar Rao, Ramashankar Mani Tripathi, Shailendra Singh, Sanjay Yadav, Zahid Ansari etc. have congratulated him on this achievement.
