Farmers will get fair price for the produce in Madhya Pradesh, processing will be done in the village itself

July 17 2021

In order to make agriculture a profitable business by increasing the income of the farmers in the state, the Shivraj government will provide processing facilities in the village itself to get a fair price for the produce. In the first phase, five custom processing centers will be opened in each district. For this, the local youth will be helped to get loan from the bank and a grant up to Rs. Farmers will bring their produce to these centers and take them for processing. For this, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel launched the scheme on Thursday.

Announcing the implementation of the scheme in a press conference, he said that it is the first of its kind. This will help the farmers to get the right price for their produce. Due to not getting easy processing facilities, the farmer sells his produce to the trader. The trader prepares the same produce through processing and sells it in the market at a higher price.

The same processing facility will be made available to the farmers in their village itself. In this, the farmer will bring his produce to the custom processing center and prepare it according to the market and take it. For this, he will have to pay some fee, which will be less than the market. Applications for Custom Processing Center will be taken from July 22 to August 4. Priority list will be prepared through lottery. For centers up to Rs 25 lakh, the government will give a grant of up to 40 percent, which will not exceed Rs 10 lakh. A grant of three percent on bank loan will also be provided through Agricultural Infrastructure Fund.
