Procurement of produce on MSP should be started by repealing agricultural law

December 05 2020

The Kisan Congress Committee has demanded the repeal of the new agricultural law in the interest of farmers. According to the minimum support price (MSP), a memorandum in the name of the Governor was submitted to SDM Vijay Rai on Thursday demanding the purchase of the produce.

Thousands of farmers have traveled on foot to Delhi to stage a sit-in against the agricultural law, as stated in the memorandum by the Kisan Congress Committee Sardarpur. The new agriculture law is the biggest resentment of farmers across the country and the biggest reason for their nationwide agitation against the Modi government. There is a fear of ending the minimum support price due to the new agricultural law. Farmers across the country have been selling their crops in the nearby mandis till now, Whose minimum support price was fixed by the government. After this new farmer law, the government has approved agri business outside the Agricultural Produce Market Committee. Due to this, farmers are now afraid that they will not be able to get a fair price for their crops. Farmers want the government to withdraw this law. With the new law, now businessmen will buy food grains directly from farmers. This will completely eliminate the mandis in the coming time and the farmer will be directly handed over to the traders. The new agricultural law has been brought basically by the Modi government in the interest of traders and an attempt has been made to weaken the farmers.

There is also demand for increase in urea fertilizer

The memorandum stated that at present, adequate quantity of urea fertilizer is not available to the farmers in Dhar district of MP. Increase in urea fertilizer per bigha given to farmers. If our demand is not met in the interest of farmers, then there will be a phased agitation by the Kisan Congress Committee Sardarpur, whose overall responsibility will be with the administration.

The memorandum was read by Chandrasingh Patel. Meanwhile, Block Congress President Raghunandan Sharma, Balmukund Patidar, Kisan Congress State General Secretary Bherusinh Badgota, Narsingh Hamad, Rajendra Lohar, Jagdish Patidar, Radheshyam Jat, Kekadia Damore, Kodarsingh Patel, Akhilesh Chanderia, Ramesh Molwa, Veerasan Bhuria, Subhash Patel , Kuldeep Patel, Ram Kewat, Anil Prajapat, Banshilal, Ramkishan, etc. were present.
