Farmers and gardeners will get Rs 134 subsidy for buying crates for the first time

For the first time in Himachal Pradesh, the government will give a subsidy of Rs 134 to the farmers and gardeners to buy crates. In the first phase, the state government will provide 1.5 lakh crates to the gardeners and farmers during the season, so that these crates can be used repeatedly for packing the crops. The cost of a plastic crate is Rs 335 and Rs 320. The government has released an amount of two crores to buy crates and give subsidy. There are estimated to be about four crore boxes of apples across the state. 

State Horticulture Director JP Sharma informed that the government will give plastic crates in subsidy to the farmers and gardeners of the state for packing fruits like mango, litchi, palm, apricot, kinnow, orange, guava etc. be less. It is said that the government is providing the gardeners with reusable plastic crates. First, 10 to 15 crates will be given to the gardeners. Farmers and gardeners will bring the crates back with them after selling the crops.
