Three agricultural laws and four labor code copies were burnt and torn by Bhilai Steel Plant employees on Wednesday morning. Here, CPI-ML state secretary Brijendra Tiwari says that the Supreme Court has given a stay order on the three agricultural laws that farmers are demanding to be repealed. The Supreme Court did not say in its order whether the agricultural laws were constitutional or not, and therefore the Supreme Court s order of the adjournment of these laws does not seem to be trustworthy for the agitating farmers and the people of India.
The Supreme Court in its order itself has indicated that the original purpose of the stay order is political. Not legal or constitutional. As stated in the order, we cannot suppress peaceful protest, but this extraordinary order, given the moratorium on agricultural laws, will give farmers a sense of success in their cause. Farmers organizations, at least for now, will inspire their members to go back to everyday life.
Brijendra Tiwari said that the four members whose names have been given in the panel have already made public publicity in favor of these laws. It is clear that this panel stands in favor of the government to such an extent that it cannot be claimed to be fair.
