December 03 2020

Kanker Years later, the agricultural produce market of Kanker city was seen again. The process of purchasing paddy by traders was started once again through an auction that was closed years ago. Farmers arrived in Mandi with their produce and mandi business also started. Farmers arrived at the agricultural produce market in the middle of the city on Wednesday morning to sell the produce through the auction process. The traders bid and bought the produce of the farmers. Kanker SDM US Bande and Mandi Secretary AN Markande started the auction by offering tilak of the weighing machine and worshiping it by law. However, due to the first day, the number of farmers was less. SDM US Fellow said that after years, once again farmers will be able to sell their produce through auction process. Many years ago this process was in practice, but gradually this process was stuck in Kanker. Paddy is procured through committees by the government.

Bande said that on the instructions of the Commissioner of Bastar Sambhav, GR Churendra, the old mandis which were closed, which benefited the farmers, would be restarted. The government is purchasing 15 quintals of paddy per acre at the support price. In such a situation, the farmers can sell their produce through the open auction method of surplus produce in the farmers market and they get the right price for their produce through it. Therefore this process has been restarted. If the paddy remains with the farmer even after selling the paddy at the support price, he can bring it to the market and sell it. Farmers who have not registered in the committees can come here and auction their produce.

Market Secretary AN Markande informed that through the open auction process in the market, a meeting of traders and ricemillars was held for sale and sale so that they can come to the market and bid for the paddy of the farmers. Dharmendra Nishad, who brought paddy from Dhanesra to Mandi, was bid for the first auction of the produce. The first day of 13 farmers were bid through the auction process. Dharmendra said that selling in the open market does not provide the right price. The right price is available in the market. Explain that farmers sell surplus paddy to middlemen for a quarter of a price, due to which they have to bear the loss.
