Abhinav Thakur, a young engineer from Jabalpur, used drones in agriculture

July 02 2021

There is talk of making agriculture a profitable business and adopting new technology in it every day. New experiments are being done. A young engineer from Jabalpur has done wonders. He has used drones for farming. This young engineer surprised everyone by using a drone for sowing. The way of sowing in the fields with the help of tractor and seed drill has changed now. In the coming time, seeds will be sown in the fields with the help of drones. Abhinav Thakur, who lives in the Madhotal area of Jabalpur, is now waiting for the drone for sowing. He has made such a drone in which if you load the middle, then he will sow it in the whole field.

Features of Drones

The specialty of this drone is that it has the capacity to lift up to 30 kg. A tank is fitted in it in which paddy or wheat seeds are filled. After that this drone flies over the field and sprinkles the seeds in the beds. Abhinav demonstrated it in the fields of Mirzapur on the request of BHU scientists.

This is such a farming drone

Abhinav told that in most of the districts of UP, after the harvesting of paddy, the cold season comes, due to which the fields do not dry up. It becomes difficult to sow wheat with tractor or seed drill. Wheat seeds are sprayed in which many types of problems also come. After getting information about this problem, he modified his drone. In this, a funnel with holes like a seed drill is installed at the bottom of the tank and through this the seed falls down. During this demo, hundreds of farmers and agricultural scientists were also present in the field, who told it to be the future of agriculture.

Operate like this

Abhinav says that for this, it is necessary for the farmer to have the knowledge of operating a drone. The map of the field is fed with the help of Google Map in mobile or tablet. After that, once started, it keeps on sowing itself according to the area of the field till the seed or battery is exhausted and after the seed or battery is exhausted, it stops automatically after landing at its place.

These are the advantages

Some advantages of sowing with drones have also come to the fore. For example, tractor trolley is not needed in this technique. Nor will the farmer have to go to the field. Rather the farmer can sow by standing in a corner of the field. Only a certain amount of seed comes out from the funnel of the drone, so that there is no wastage of seeds. The drone moves in one direction with the help of a map, so that each seed falls in a fixed amount at a certain distance and the crop plants grow in a line.

This is the price of the drone

Abhinav has made this drone at a cost of about 8 lakh rupees. It is capable of sowing as well as spraying the drug. For this, only the trunks under the drone have to be removed and the sprayer has to be installed. Two years ago, Abhinav showed by spraying medicine in the fields with the help of this drone. This drone of Abhinav is an example of the agricultural technology of the future, which the scientists of UP are working with Abhinav to make it even more effective at a lower cost.
