This list is topped by ‘Bheem’ from Jodhpur, Rajasthan & ‘Yuvraj’ from Kurukshetra, Haryana. Both these Bulls are priced at Rs 24 Crore and Rs 9 Crore respectively. Let us discuss about them in detail.
Bheem- India’s Costliest Buffalo worth Rs 24 Crore
Bheem, a Murrah Breed of Buffalo is 14 feet long, 6 feet tall & weighs 1500 kg (= weight of a hatchback car). His hoof is as large as its size. Every day, this buffalo consumes one kilogram of ghee and 25 litres of milk. In addition, he consumes one kilo of cashew-almonds every day.
His owner- Arvind Jangid, took Bheem to a cattle fair in Jodhpur where an Afghan Sheikh who visited Jodhpur offered a price of 24 crores for this buffalo, but he refused to sell it. He said that he had not brought the buffalo to the fair to sell it, but rather to demonstrate for the conservation of the Murrah breed of buffalo.
There is a high demand for its sperm; calves born from the sperm of this buffalo weigh 40 to 50kg and produce 20 to 30 litres of milk per day as adults of Bheem. The price of 0.25 ML is Rs.500. 0.25ML of sperm is equivalent to a pen refill. The owner of Bheem sell around 10,000 refills every year, with 4 to 5 ml of semen coming out at a time.
Yuvraj- The Buffalo Worth Rs 9.5 Crore
Yuvraj is no ordinary bull; he weighs 1,500 kg and is 5 feet and 7 inches tall and has been National Livestock Champion 24 times for his vital statistics. The 9-year-old bull of Murrah breed drinks 20 litres of milk every day to stay fit and healthy.
Yuvraj is priceless and his breed with a price tag of Rs 9.25 crore also attracts people from all across the globe.
A single ejaculation of Yuvraj, triggered with the help of a teaser animal or by electro-stimulation method, generates between 10-14 ml of semen, which is then diluted scientifically and 700 to 900 doses are prepared with it. He is a proud father of over 2 Lakh offsprings, his owner, Karamveer Singh says.
