Dr Malik gets “Best Scientist Award”

Prof. Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, has been selected for “Best Scientist Award” by the National Academy of Biological Sciences (NABS) in the field of Veterinary and Fisheries.   The award shall be conferred upon him during the Annual Conference of the Academy to be held at Chennai in September 2022.
Prof. Malik is a highly decorated scientist in the field of Animal Biotechnology, working on Host-Pathogen Interaction, Evolution and Epidemiology of viral diseases. He has 7 books, and 227 scientific research articles at his credit in peer reviewed journals of high impact factor. He has been associated with many institutions of national and international repute including Secretary of World Society for Virology (USA) during 2022-24 and Secretary General of Indian Virology Society, 2020-2023. He is representing India as a member in One Health group in Federation of Asian Veterinary Association (FAVA) for 2021-2025. He is member of International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) 2017-2023. Widely travelled Prof. Malik has represented India in the scientific arena and with this award, he has been appropriately acknowledged by NABS.
