Ludhiana Resident represented India in Global Network Work Conference for Mobilizing the GFN in Support of a Resilient Agri-Food System program at Buenos Aires & Rosario in Argentina 

Global Farmer Network’s forum in Buenos Aires in last week. 80 farmers from more than 30 countries joined the conference In meeting farmers discussed and debate the challenges and opportunities for world agriculture, no matter who we are, where we’re from, or what crops or livestock we grow. This was a learning opportunity for all participants. Those involved in agriculture were privileged and depended on for sustainably producing food. This was international gathering of minds is manifesting the dream of our predecessors. All of us stand to benefit from the give and take, as we engaged in what the information theorists call “knowledge transfer,” which was a useful phrase for describing the exchange of ideas through conversation. During 6 days, 80 producers from more than 30 countries and all the continents represented that are current members of the Network had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as learn about some of the initiatives that are carried out in our country after a sustainable agriculture model focused on good agronomic practices, innovation and digitization. 

“Argentina is a pioneer in the development of technological innovations. In ocountry they started with the no-tillage revolution, positioning a paradigm of care within a system of continuous improvement based on the transfer of knowledge from farmer to farmer, supported by science and strong organizational and institutional innovation that drives collaborative action.

This week s event, approximately 80 GFN members had the opportunity to meet in person for the first time, making it a moment they are celebrating with euphoria. “ Come together to meet beyond the virtual, train with purpose, mobilize and provide multiple platforms for global farmers as agricultural ambassadors to be catalysts for modern, science-based agriculture”, they extended. Agriculture is not only the most effective way to protect the environment and biodiversity, but it is also the only industry that offers meaningful carbon positive solutions,” they said. For the experts, this is an enormous opportunity for Argentina, where once again, it can share its technological, organizational and institutional innovation capacity, strengthened with the network of researchers, suppliers of inputs and processes, agricultural machinery, agtechs and further. GFN is made up of 239 women and men farmers representing 61 countries, it was motivated by an internal exchange and training among network members, field visits, companies and institutions. The group visited the Uranga family farm , Terminal 6 with AGD-Bunge in the Port of Rosario, Bioceres-Rizobacter and the Rosario Stock Exchange. Exchanges in Buenos Aires and Rosario with Cargill and Auravant, with a visit to the Bayer FF center and presentations by Cafma and Altina, to this was added Argenbio and Think T.
