Get 90% Subsidy on Solar Pump; Apply by 16 October

Under PM Kusum Yojana, the Centre will provide solar agriculture pump sets to farmers on subsidy. The primary objective of Kusum Yojana 2021 is to provide farmers with advanced technology for generating electricity. These solar pumps have dual benefits as it will assist the farmers in irrigation and will also allow the farmers to generate electricity.

In the Union Budget 2021-22, the Centre has allocated Rs. 1,000 crore for the successful implementation of PM Kusum Yojana.

Free Solar Pump Scheme

Under the Kusum scheme, farmers running solar pumps from solar energy will be able to sell their electricity back to the power distribution units of the states and earn additional profit from it.

Though the scheme was implemented earlier, the Ministry of Renewal under the central government has targeted to extend it till 2021-22 and 2022-23.  The central government believes that PM Kusum Yojana can play an important role in doubling the income of farmers.

How to Apply Online for Solar Pump

To get a free solar pump in this PM Kusum Yojana of the central government, farmers will have to apply online on the official website of the scheme (mnre.gov.in). Farmers can easily apply for Kusum Yojana from this website.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the launch of Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Mahabhiyan. Kusum Yojana 2021 will provide financial and water security to the farmers. Kusum Solar Pump Scheme online application form is available at mnre.gov.in.

PM Kusum Yojana Latest Update

The government has been encouraging farmers towards solar energy by launching various schemes. The registration process for the central government s PM-KUSUM has begun in several states, which aims to provide 90% subsidy to agricultural solar pumps.

PM KUSUM 2020 aims to provide around 20 lakh solar pumps across the country to eradicate all the water problems of the farmers. As per the reports, the solar pump scheme is in full swing in the state of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Under PM Kusum Yojana, the farmer will get subsidy on new and better solar powered pumps. The farmers will have to spend only 10% of the total cost to install the solar pump and 60% of the cost will be controlled by the government and the remaining 30% will be borne by the bank as credit.
