New variety of Basmati from PAU, Ludhiana

Basmati

Punjab Basmati-7: Its average height is 111 cm. The average yield is 18.0 quintals per acre and the variety matures in 101 days after sowing. This variety is capable of combating all the 10 types of blight bacteria found in Punjab. This type of basmati is longer, thinner, softer to eat and more palatable which gives the aroma of traditional basmati when ripe.
