Dr. Iqbaljit Singh Benipal is a distinguished individual known for his significant contributions in the field of agriculture, particularly in the realm of vegetable crops. Born with a passion for agricultural sciences, Dr. Benipal pursued his Ph.D. in vegetable crops from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in 1998. This academic achievement marked the beginning of a remarkable journey in the agricultural sector. In the year 2000, Dr. Benipal embarked on his professional career by joining the Department of Agriculture as an Agricultural Development Officer (ADO) in Doraha, Ludhiana. His commitment to advancing agricultural practices and ensuring food security became evident as he delved into the responsibilities of this role. Over the course of his extensive 23-year career, Dr. Benipal has showcased his expertise and dedication in various capacities. Notably, he spent five years at the Pesticide Testing Laboratory at PAU, where he played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pesticides used in agricultural practices. Subsequently, he contributed his skills and knowledge for a year at the Fertilizer Testing Laboratory, further expanding his expertise in the critical area of soil fertility. In 2013, Dr. Benipal participated in an 84-day training on Pesticides Formulations and Analysis in Hyderabad, to enhance his technical skills in pesticide analysis . His impactful work at the grassroots level earned him recognition from DC Fatehgarh Sahib in October 2022. Dr. Benipal's professional journey has taken him across different regions of Punjab, including Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sirhind, Doraha, among others. This diverse experience has not only enriched his understanding of regional agricultural challenges but has also allowed him to implement innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of each area. Presently, Dr. Iqbaljit Singh Benipal holds the position of Block Agriculture Officer (BAO) in Sirhind, where his leadership continues to make a positive impact on the agricultural landscape. His role involves overseeing and implementing various agricultural initiatives, ensuring the welfare of farmers, and contributing to the overall development of the agriculture sector in the region.
