Suggestions for Planting a Nursery
Poplar: Irrigate poplar plantations and nurseries at the fortnightly interval.
Prune the branches of the nursery for ensuring better quality planting stock.
In case there is the incidence of bark-eating caterpillars, collect and destroy the infested leaves. Sowing of wheat/sugarcane as intercrop can be done.
In light soils, a deficiency of zinc to observed in upper leaves. The leaves turn yellow. Apply 100 g, 200 g, and 300 g ZnSo4 (21%) per plant in the plantations 1, 3, and 5 years of age.
