Precautionary measures to protect Marigold from weeds
Marigold: To prevent weeds from growing in the marigold plant, cover the field with a layer of silver-black plastic sheet (25 microns thick) or paddy straw (40 qt l/acre). When seeds are sown, that is, in February for marigolds during the summer and in August during the rainy season, mulching is applied in the field. Marigold growth and yield are greatly dependent on the process of mulching.
