PAU recommended varieties of Bt cotton

Cotton: Complete the sowing of PAU recommended varieties of Bt cotton PAU Bt 1, PAU Bt 2, and PAU Bt; non-Bt cotton F2228 and LH 2108 and Bt hybrid cotton. Sow seeds in polythene bags to fill gaps in cotton. Farmers are advised to sow the crop during morning and evening hours. Soak the seed in a solution of 0.5 g succinic acid and 5 liters of water for 2-4 hours in case of acid delinted seed or 6-8 hours in case of non-delinted seed to promote the good establishment of the plant stand, better early growth, and more yield.

• For preventing damage by cotton jassid, smear the seed with 5g Gaucho 70WS (imidacloprid) or 7g Cruiser 30FS (thiamethoxam) per kg seed.
• Eradicate the weeds like kanghibuti, peelibuti, puthkanda etc growing on cotton field bunds, wastelands, road side, and irrigation channels/canals to avoid further spread of whitefly to cotton field.
