Milking Hygiene for prevention of Mastitis in Animals

  • After milking, the skin membrane of the teats remains open for some time and germs can enter it, due to which there is a risk of getting mastitis disease, so the animal should not be allowed to sit immediately after milking. For this, after milking, the animal should be given feed or fodder to eat.

  • After milking, always dip the teats in antiseptic solution.

  • When milking with the machine, make sure that there are no sores on the udder or teats.

  • The milk of an animal suffering from lumpy skin disease should be properly boiled before drinking and it does not spread the disease in humans.
