Things to keep in mind for livestock keepers
Poultry
- Egg-laying hens must get 16 hours of light per day.
- Good-quality calcium is essential in the diet of egg-laying hens.
- Ensure the chickens get enough warmth; make sure they have a proper shed and bedding.
- Make arrangements for heating inside the shed.
Pig farming
- Do not allow moisture to remain on the floor inside the pig shed.
- Examine pigs closely for signs of skin diseases.
Fisheries
- Use Cefax (400 ml/acre) or Red medicine (400-500 g/acre) to disinfect the pond.
- When the temperature drops, reduce the dose of fish by 25-75%.
