Advisory related to pruning of citrus fruits

  • Fruits should be pruned after drying, and after pruning, a spray of Bordeaux mixture is necessary.
  • After drying the fruits, fertilisers should be applied as per PAU recommendation.
  • Spray Ektara medicine at a rate of 160 gm/acre in the month of February.
  • To avoid the heat, the stem of the plant should be painted by touching it.
  • Keeping in mind the change in weather in the coming time, plants that block the wind should be planted in the northwest direction of the garden.

Keeping in view the weather changes in the Malwa region, the following things should be kept in mind.

  • Keep applying water to the plants after 7-10 days.
  • The land should not be ploughed.
  • Straw mulching should be done in the gardens.
  • If possible, a microclimate should be created in the fields with a microspiller or rain gun.
  • Synthetic parthide group should not be sprayed. Try to spray all the recommended insecticides in late February.
  • At the time of flowering, keep boxes of honey bees in the gardens so that the pollination process can be good.
