Advice for horticultural farmers

FRUITS: Apply frequent irrigations to the fruit plants bearing fruits such as peach, plum, pear, litchi etc. Apply light and frequent irrigations to newly planted and other fruit plants as temperature is rising day by day.

• Regularly remove the suckers arising from the rootstock portion of the newly planted fruit plants. Such plants can be supported with sticks to keep them erect.
• It’s an appropriate time for application of second split of inorganic fertilizers to fruit crops as per recommendations.
• To avoid rainy season crop of guava prune out the terminal portions of the shoots up to 20 or 30 cm length. Also withhold irrigation in guava orchards for it.
