A good time to start poultry farming

Poultry farming: February is a good month to start poultry farming.

• Chicks require a temperature of about 32 degrees Celsius during the first month for optimal growth.
• During this time, the chicks should be kept under a brooder in a room/shed.
• Egg-laying chicks should be provided with light for 24 hours at 0-1 weeks of age, for 20 hours at 2-3 weeks of age, and for 16 hours at 4-12 weeks of age.
