Realizing the importance and foresight of the Haryana Government the Governor of Haryana, approved the establishment of the Haryana State University of Horticultural Sciences (MHU) at village Anjanthali (Karnal). The university's mission is to be a centre of excellence in teaching, research, and extension education in horticulture and related sectors for food and environmental security, improved livelihood opportunities, and economic prosperity in farming communities. The university aims to develop diversified sustainable farming systems for improving productivity and profitability in horticulture and to train farmers and extension functionaries for the effective dissemination of advanced horticultural technologies in Haryana and its neighbouring states.
