Dr. M R Meena, presently working as Scientist, Plant Breeding at ICAR-Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Regional centre, Karnal (Haryana). As a researcher, he works on selection of elite sugarcane clones which are suitable for North-West Zone of India, development and selection of high sugar varieties of sugarcane under subtropical conditions and deals with all kind of queries related to sugarcane variety identification and DUS characteristics. Other than this, he is also actively involved in Sugarcane varietal development programme and breeder seed supply under NFSM. With his vast research experience, he wants to passionately serve the farmers who are interested in sugarcane cultivation by explaining them about the institutional improved varieties and technologies.
