Dr. Jaswinderpal Singh Grewal is a resident of Sangrur district, Punjab State. He completed his graduation in BSc Agriculture (Hons) in 1986 from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and joined the Department of Agriculture as an Agriculture Inspector at Sangrur. Further, in 1990, he got promoted as Agriculture Development Officer and in 2018, as Chief Agriculture Officer, Sangrur with an additional charge of District Patiala. From 2021 onwards, Dr. Grewal is serving the Agriculture Department as Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Punjab. He got his training from the National Institute of Plant Health Management, Hyderabad. Dr. Jaswinderpal Singh has always promoted the cultivation of Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) and has also organized various awareness camps to stop Stubble burning at various levels.
