Dr. Gurbachan Singh has worked as Agriculture Commissioner in the Department of Farmer Welfare in 2009. He is the Chairman at Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) and Founder, Chairman at Dr. Gurbachan Singh Foundation. He joined the Agriculture Department as a Scientist in 1978. Further in 2000, he got appointed as head of the department, later he joined Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) as Agriculture Director General in 2001 and Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI) , Karnal as Director in 2005. He has published numerous books, book chapters, bulletins, reports, peer reviewed research papers, popular articles and Conference papers. He has also got various awards and recognitions for his commendable research work. He is actively involved in conducting various types of trainings for farmers and have solved many of their problems. With 44 years of experience in soil and water management, Gurbachan Singh has provided a significant contribution to the field. His tremendous work and dedication has led the department to touch new skies.
