Dr. Avtar Singh completed his post graduation in 1986 and joined the Agriculture Department as an Agricultural Development Officer in 1988 at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Further, with his hard work, in 2014 he got promoted as Agriculture officer and in the year 2020, he joined Ropar as Chief Agriculture officer. Currently he is working as Joint Director High Yielding Varieties Programme (HYVP), Punjab. Dr Avtar Singh has been awarded with 1st prize for zero stubble burning and he also achieved 1st prize for implementing the PM Kisan Saman Nidhi Yojna in 2021. With his 35 years of experience, he is actively involved in conducting various types of trainings for farmers and has solved many of their problems.
