Advisory related to Barley and Wheat for next five days

In view of the severe spread of Corona (Covid-19), the farmers are advised to follow the guidelines given by the Government of India during agricultural operations. There is a forecast of no rain in the coming days. Chances of pest and disease outbreaks increases in the changing weather therefore farmers are advised to monitor the crop regularly and recommended chemicals should be used based on their requirement.Cold day to severe cold day condition very likely to prevail at isolated to few places with no rain and moderate to dense fog likely to occur in some parts of the plains.

BARLEY- Late sowing variety of Barley like-Jyoti, Preeti, Manjula, Jagrati should be selected. 100-110Kg seed/Ha should be used. Sowing of seeds should be done in 18-20cm in the lines and it should be completed by the second fortnight of December.

WHEAT- To control the weed in the wheat, first and second weeding and hoeing should be done after 25-30 days and 45-50 days of sowing respectively. To control the grassy and broadleaf weed in the wheat fields, a solution of vesta @ 400g/ 700 lit of water/ ha should be sprayed after 30-35 days of sowing.
