Preparation of pond for fish farming in hill areas

Fisheries: Provide 1 to 2 % feed for feeding according to fish weight, Use lime @ 2 Kg/100 square meter/month, Maintain a minimum 1.0 meter level of water, disinfect the net and other equipment before and after use, harvesting, and marketing of old fish stock.

Pond preparation: Use cow dung/compost @ 50 kg/100 square meter and filled the pond with water up to one meter followed by the application of lime @ 2 kg/100 square meter.

• After 15-20 days when pond water become green in color, stock fish seed of silver carp, common carp, and grass carp species (4-6 cm) @ 250-300/100 square meter.
