Preparation of fish ponds in hilly areas

• Use cow dung/compost @ 50 kg/100 sq meter and filled the pond with water up-to one meter followed by application of lime @ 2 kg/100 sq meter. 
• After 15-20 days when pond water become green in color, stock fish seed of silver carp, common carp and grass carp species (4-6 cm) @ 250-300/100 sq meter.
• Maintain minimum 1.0 meter level of water, disinfect the net and other equipments before and after use.
• Provide 1 to 2 % feed for feeding according to fish weight, Use lime @ 2 Kg/100 sq meter/month.
