Expert advice for vegetable farming

Following are the tips for vegetable farming in Nainital district:

• Tomato, Capsicum and Brinjal: Buy the best varieties of tomatoes, Capsicum and Brinjal & sow them in the nursery. To save from cold, the nursery should be covered with white plastic in such a way that it can transmit sunlight as well as air (1 meter above the ground level). When yellow spots are visible on the tomatoes, spray the Mancozeb at the rate of 2.5-3.0 grams per liter.
• Peas : for controlling wilting and yellowing of lower leaves in the peas please give application of  carbendazim @ 1.0 gram per liter of water in its roots. after hand weeding provide a light irrigation. 
• Potato : At higher elevations varieties of potatoes such as kufri jyoti, shelja, kufri himalini, kufri girdahari should be preferred  and sanitation of potato field is also necessary   
• Cauliflower, Cabbage: Timely hand weeding as necessary in these crops.
