Two new improved mustard varieties have been introduced by CCS HAU, Hisar

The team of oilseed scientists of Chaudhary Charan Singh HAU, Hisar, on August 17, 2022, created two new , RH 1424 and RH 1706, high-tech varieties of mustard. Along with Haryana, farmers in the states of Punjab, Delhi, North Rajasthan, and Jammu will also prosper from these varieties.
The RH 1424 variety is extremely good for timely sowing and cultivation in rainfed conditions. The variety achieved an average seed production of 26 quintals per hectare in rainfed trials, a 14% increase over RH 725, according to University Research. This variety matures in 139 days and has a 40.5% seed oil content.
Value-added variety RH 1706 has been discovered to be an excellent choice for timely sowing in these states' irrigated areas. Consumers' health will be benefited by the improved oil quality of this mustard variety, which has less than 2.0% uric acid. This variety matures in 140 days and produces 27 quintals of seeds on average per hectare. Its seeds contain 38 percent oil
The introduction of these varieties will undoubtedly mark a significant shift in the production of the states that grow mustard.
