Regarding Increased rainfall activity over Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh due to two consecutive Western Disturbance
A fresh active Western Disturbance & its associated induced cyclonic circulation very likely to affect Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh from 4th January 2022. Under its influence Rainfall activity is very
likely to occur over Punjab and Haryana including Chandigarh during 4th to 6th January with peak intensity on 5th January.
Light to Moderate rain/thundershower activity is very likely at isolated places on 4th January an increase afterwards with Light to Moderate rain/thundershower at most places over Punjab and at
many places over Haryana including Chandigarh on 5th January.
Said spell is likely to be accompanied with Thunderstorm, Lightning and Hail at isolated places over Northern, Western & South-western Parts of Punjab & Haryana.
Advisory:
Drive carefully during rain.
Keep harvested crop in safe place.
Avoid irrigation application of Fertilizers and Pesticides due to expected rain.
Temperature and Cold Wave
Gradual rise in minimum temperature by 3-5 °C during next 3-4 days.
Prevailing cold wave conditions likely to continue for another 24 hours and abate afterwards.
Below Normal maximum temperature very likely during 41 to 6 January 2022

Under the influence of Another Active Western Disturbance and its induced system during 07-09th January, rainfall activity again likely to increase over Punjab and Haryana during 07*h -09* January 2022 with light to moderate rainfall at few to many places. This spell is likely to be accompanied with Thunderstorm/Hailstorm and lightning at isolated places. Further update in this regard will follow.
