IMD, Shimla's Advisory for Farmers

Summer/Kharif Crops:-

• Monitor Paddy nursery for rice blast if seen the advised recommended chemical.
• Monitor and prepare for transplantation of paddy; if the color of the plants is yellow in the paddy nursery, it may lack iron element.
• If the upper leaves of plants are yellow and the bottom is green, then it shows deficiency of iron element.
• For this, spray 0.5% recommended chemical with 0.25% lime solution when the sky is clear.
• Finish maize sowing (25-30 kg/ha).
• Rongi, soybean mash can be sown along with maize here and spray with approved herbicide for weed control.
• Ensure proper drainage in maize fields.
• At places where maize crop is 2 or 3 weeks old, time for weeding.

Fodder Crops:

• Advised to sowing of fodder maize alongwith cowpeas and soybean in irrigated areas.
• In mid hill regions one cut of berseem can be taken
