IMD, Patna's Advisory for Farmers

Weather Summary/Alert:

• Cloudy sky to be expected during the entire week.
• There is chance of light to medium rainfall duringthe week.
• Minimum R.H is expected to be around 55 % and maximum R.H is expected to be around 70% 
• Minimum temperature is expected to be around 25 Degree Centigrade and maximum temperature is expected to be around 33 Degree Centigrade.

General Advisory:

• Farmers are advised for sowing of groundnut varieties like AK 12-24, kuber, JL 24 etc in the field having well draingage system. Seed should be sown after treatment with Bavistin 2.5 gram/kg of seed to protect from damage by insects.

Crop Specific Advisory:

RICE:

• Farmers are suggested to sow certified seeds of medium duration kharif rice varieties Sita, Kanak, Rajendra Sweta, B PT 5204 etc. Seed Treatments should be done with Bavistin @ 2g/kg. Seed rate @ 20kg/ha. Apply 1kg N, P and K for 100 sq.m seed bed.
• For direct seeded rice (DSR) seeds should be sown with light presowing irrigation. Seeds should be sown at 2-3 cm depth @ 20-25 kg/ha. Spacing should be maintained at 25 cm. Apply 40 kg N, 60 kg P and 40 kg K should be applied as basal dose.

MAIZE:

• Farmers are advised to prepare land and procure certified seeds of kharif maize varieties Rajendra Shankar Makka-3, Shaktiman-1, 2, SHM-1, DHM117, and Swan etc. Seed treatments should be done with Bavistin @ 2g/kg. Seeds should be sown immediately in the seedbed.

GREEN GRAM:

• Farmers are advised to harvest mature pods of green gram only during clear weather. After harvesting of matured pods of moong, incorporate it in soil which acts as green manuring in paddy field and improves soil health.
