IMD Advisory for Jodhpur, Rajsthan farmers
Keeping in the view the threat of COVID-19 spread, farmers are advised to wear mask and hand should be wash with soap at reasonable interval and maintain social distancing while working in the field. Due to the possibility of rainfall farmer are advised to kept the harvested produce of kharif crops at safe place.
Wheat- Farmers are advised to procure good quality seeds of wheat and stat field's prepration. Recommended cultivars for normal sowing- Raj-3077, WH-147, GW-322, GW-273, HI- 1544, RAj-4037, HI-8498, Lok-1 and Raj-3765. Seed rate- 100 kg per hactare. Application of Chlorpyriphos (20 EC) @ 5 litres per hactare with pre- irrigation is recommended before sowing in the fields having perennial problem of termite infestation. Recommended dose of fertilizer for N.P.K. is 120, 50 and 40 kg/hactare.
Mustard- Immediately after sowing in mustard and before germination, spray the oxadiargyl 190 g or pendimethalin @ 1 kg of active ingredients per hactare in 700 liters of water for the control of weeds.
Gram- For weed control in gram crop, spraying fluchloralin @ 500g/750 liters of water per hactare before sowing.
Garlic- Prevailing mean temperature is suitable for sowing of garlic. Before sowing farmers are advised to ensure optimum soil moisture for better seed germination. Recommended cultivars: G-1, G-41, G-50, G-282. Application of FYM and phosphorus fertilizer is recommended.
Storage- After harvesting og kharif crops, crop should be dried in the field for 2-3 days and therafter threshing should be done. Before storing, grains should be dried to bring down moisture level below 12%. In case of rainfall keep crop under shade for drying.
