Farmers cultivating Tomato, Brinjal, Beans and Cucurbits should keep these things in mind

Tomato- Pruning of lower leaves upto 15-20 cm height to control the attack of late blight in Tomato.

  • To control the attack of late blight spray Mancozeb or Dithane-M-45@ 250 gm/100 L of water.
  • Collect the damaged fruits and leaves and buried them in the soil to avoid the attack of the shoot borer in Tomato.
  • Install pheromone trap @ 25 per hac if pest population is high.
  • To control the attack of mites in tomato, spray Propargite 57 % EC @ 10 ml/ 10 L of water under clear sky.

Brinjal- Collect the damaged fruits and leaves and buried them in the soil to avoid the attack of the shoot borer in Brinjal.

  • Install pheromone trap @ 25 per hac if pest population is high.

Beans- To control the attack of mosaic (Patches of light and dark green colour on the leaves) spray Malathion @100 ml/L of water.

Cucurbits- To control the attack of Bacterial disease in Bottle gourd, cucumber and Pumpkin spray Blitox @ 3gm/1L of water.
