Advisory related to Wheat, Mustard and Flower for the upcoming days
Keeping in view of threat of COVID-19 spread farmers are advised to follow the government guidelines, personal hygiene, use mask, ensure hand washing with soap at reasonable interval, social distancing during picking of vegetables and other agricultural operation in all crops.In view of falling both maximum and minimum temperature, Farmers are advised for light irrigation at evening time to protect the crop from probable frost.
Wheat- In view of falling temperature, farmers are advised for sowing of late wheat soon. Seed rate:- 125 kg seed per hectare. Recommended cultivars: - H.D.-3059, H.D.-3237, H.D.-3271, WR-544, P.B.W.373, U.P.2338, U.P.2425, Raj. 3765. Seed should be treated with Bavistin @ 1 gram or Thiram @ 2.0 gram per kilogram of seed. Application of Chlorpyriphos (20EC) @ 5 litres per hectare with pre-irrigation water or by spraying is recommended before sowing in the fields having perennial problem of termite infestation. Recommended dose of fertilizer for N: P: K is 80, 40 and 40 kg / hectare.
Mustard- Thinning and weeding is recommended in late sown mustard crop. If low temperature continues for two weeks, white rust infection may start. Therefore farmers are advised to keep observation on leaves for white rust appearance.
Flowers- Due to high relative humidity farmers are advised for constant monitoring of inflorescence rotting disease in marigold crop.
