Advisory related to Orange and Potato for the upcoming days

ORANGE- Crop is mainly in maturity/harvesting stage. Continue harvesting in current weather condition keeping the stalk intact with the fruit. If harvesting is over, prune the diseased and dried branches. As mostly sunny weather forecasted, after pruning apply Bordeaux paste on pruned parts.

POTATO- Crop is mainly in vegetative stage and tuber development stage. After rain, the current weather of relative humidity (above 90%) and night temperature of 10°C condition is very much favorable for late-blight disease in potato. Regularly monitor against the disease symptoms. Prominent symptoms include  small, dark, circular to irregular shaped lesion in the leaves. Protective spraying with mancozeb or zineb 0.2 % should be done to prevent infection of tubers.
