Advisory related to Lentil, Field Pea and livestock for next days

In view of the severe spread of Corona (Covid-19), the farmers are advised to follow the guidelines given by the Government of India during agricultural operations. There is a forecast of no rain in the coming days. Chances of pest and disease outbreaks increases in the changing weather therefore farmers are advised to monitor the crop regularly and recommended chemicals should be used based on their requirement.

LENTIL- Weeding should be done in lentils at 25-30 and 45-50 days after sowing. Keeping in view the possibility of light rain on 5 January, postpone the irrigation in lentil.

FIELD PEA- Keeping in view the rainfall forecast in the coming days, postpone the irrigation.

BUFFALO- To save the animals from cold, proper arrangement of the animal shed should be done. Sitting place of animals should be leveled so that their productive capacity is not affected and special care should be given to the new born animals. To save the animal from cold, dry grasses, paddy residue (Puwal) etc which are not used as fodder for animals should be used as a bedding material for animals in sheds. Door and window should be covered properly so that cold wind could not be entered in the animal shed.
