COMMON FISH- As temperature of the surface water is colder than the bottom layers, the fish prefers to live in the bottom zone during cold seasons. Farmers shall keep the water depth up to 6 feet before arrival of winter, so that fishes get enough space for hibernating in the warmer bottom zone.In shallow waters, the whole water column becomes cold, which affects the fish and can prove fatal.
CHICKEN- In current weather condition, the ambient temperature is dropping and maintenance of optimum temperature is of much importance even before the arrival of chicks. For the day-old chicks, the shed should be pre-heated one to two days before the arrival of chicks. If it is not, the air and the litter will absorb heat from the bodies of the chicks and the birds may start shivering with cold. This will affect the growth of the birds.
